Using paid reviews to support your web-site

February 4th, 2012 admin No comments

There are a number of web-sites that allows to order review of your site together with backlinks, the most popular and easy to use is SponsoredReviews.

Technically it’s easy to use:

  1. You sign up as an advertiser
  2. Go to “Manage opportunities”, create new one
  3. Then wait a little (about 1 hour as most people bid on opportunities there automatically)
  4. You select blog that you like and approve them to write a review
  5. You check results in few days and if something is not as expected you can issue dispute.

You will need to add some money to your account: paid attention to extra bonuses that you will have if you will add more funds.

That’s it! But as usually there are some ideas that you need to keep in mind.

Each opportunity text has “Requirements” part

To protect yourself from inappropriate reviews put there this text:

Here are some requirements for the review:
– Please, don’t copy text from our web-site, write your own thoughts and ideas.
– I’m not interested in the list of what I have on web-site, I’m interested in creative review. For instance, you might tell about benefits or opportunities that you see for your readers.
– Required links should be spread across the text naturally
– No cross posting. If you have more than one blog and both sites were approved for review the posts must be completely different.
This will not solve all your possible problems, but will prevent some.

If you pay 6$/review

  • Don’t expect the review to be informative, it is more for SEO purposes.

If you need reviews for SEO purposes

  • When creating opportunity put lower Maximum Price, the same people who bid for 60$ project will bid for your 20$ project as well.

If you pay 200$/review

  • Don’t expect the review to be informative neither… check old posts on blog, it would be a good idea to contact author personally before you order the review.

Checklist for SEO-level reviews

  • Good pricing +  Google PR
  • Niche
  • Language (not all sites there are in English)

Checklist for expensive reviews

  • Analyze old posts of author: check the number of comments. There should be a significant number of comments (not just like “Yes”, “Agree”)
  • Check the content with copyscape.com to understand if the content is unique or is copied
  • Check the number of paid posts (normally you can identify them by some outgoing links)

Not a mainstream

  • Authors of “good” blogs don’t normally do these “reviews” on regular basis, so you won’t find them in a list of bids, instead you might need to do research yourself. But with sponsoredreviews it is hard to differentiate serial review writers from others of normal blogs, so the better idea might be search for interesting blogs manually with google or at linkedin/xing where you can check author’s background better, and then contact authors personally. For sure it is time consuming, but results are normally better.

    Before ordering review

Make sure you did “silver bullet test” to find out the main keyword of your web-site as we discussed before. Paid reviews are just a tool, if you don’t know your keyword you won’t achieve any reasonable results in traffic or sales.

Reporting tricks that make your life easier

February 1st, 2012 admin No comments

When you hire people online of the issue that you should pay them small amounts of money regularly. Normally you don’t agree on monthly salary, but instead agree on payments for each part of the project and sometimes it is getting hard to calculate to total you need to pay.

For instance, you might pay to your technical support specialist x$ for each answered ticket, y$ for each bug reported, z$ for each sale that he generated.

These calculations might be time consuming unless your employee will do them himself. The only thing he will do is reporting to you in a certain format and calculation the total.

For instance, your employee might sent you a list of tickets where he participated, list of bugs reported, etc. and finally he will calculate the total himself.

The only thing you will need to do is to check this report and pay the total.

    Marketing with email auto-responder

February 1st, 2012 admin No comments

Don’t loose your visitors – convert them into subscribers

    Imagine this:

    1. You invest in SEO or in Google Adwords
    2. Customer visit your web-site, probably he is interested in something, but not ready to buy and he… leaves your website!
    3. If you don’t want this to happen create email auto-responder campaign with one of the services listed below. Then instead of asking customer to buy something right away suggest him to download some free product from your web-site. Before giving out download link ask customer to enter his email

    Get email subscription form

It might sound complicated, but it is not, here what you should do:

    1. Create an account in one of the services below
    2. Create a new campaign there with just 1-2 steps (on the first step you will be giving out the full link to your free product, on the second step you might start promoting some commercial product).
    3. Get HTML code for subscription form and put it on your web-site.

List of services for email marketing

    Advanced steps

    • In your email campaign should be at least 7 steps
    • Your email campaign should contact offer + deadline + motivation for action, e.g. “Buy my product with 30% discount before 3rd of January” (offer = 30%, deadline = 3rd of January; motivation for action = buy)
    • On your landing page should be subscription form, some relevant text or video and NOTHING ELSE. You will improve conversion significantly if you will remote all sidebars, menus and so on.
    • Make sure there is a chain of campaigns, e.g. you always have something to offer to your client. In B2B you might get sales after 1 year of initial contact with customer.
