The latest version of File Search Assistant allows to find similar files. The idea is simple: you need to select some file on you hard disk and specify whether you want to find similar files by content or just files with similar name. Then specify “Min Similarity” level that you need and click “Search” to start getting results!
Step by step instruction on how to find similar files:
Step 1
Switch to "Search similar files" mode
Step 2
Specify the source file, e.g. file that will be compared with files from search. Select "Search similar content" or "Search similar name" mode.
Step 3
Specify min similarity for the files to be shown in the search results
Step 4
Click “Search” button and the program will starting finding similar files immediately!

We have recently released File Search Assistant 3.2 – the major improvement is that this version provides full support of search within UNICODE documents.
For user of the software it means that:
- It is possible to use any national symbols in the search query;
- FSA will search and display results for documents saved in various encodings (ANSI, UTF 8, UTF 16);
File Search Assistant can detect encodings automatically or user can switch to manual choice of encoding on Encoding tab.
With new functions user can even search in document for two words from different languages – FSA will find necessary files without problems!
