...I see that it is trying to save the template file (normal.dot) each time it scans a doc. It reports
that it can''t save the template because it is read-only.
So.. maybe it is not opening all the docs but instead it is tring to save the template? |

I have been searching google for an answer.
Some posts suggest its a macro virus that is trying to write to normal.dot. I have Norton AV installed and it dores not detect any viruses but you never know.
Some posts suggest renaming deleting normal.dot. This did not help.
What did help was changing the User Template directory.
(Tools | Options | File Locations)
from :
C:\\Documents and Settings\\Administrator\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Templates
to :
C:\\Documents and Settings\\Administrator\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Templates2
I still don''t know why normal.dot was locked but it works for now. |
