How to install File Search
Assistant
First you should download
File Search Assistant from http://www.aks-labs.com/find-files/.
Run downloaded exe file and follow instructions of setup program.
Finishing installation you can choose whether to run File Search
Assistant or run File Search Assistant’s usage manual.
How to uninstall File
Search Assistant
Select File Search
Assistant option in Start -> Programs menu and select
“uninstall”.
How to backup File Search
Assistant settings
All the information about
File Search Assistant settings is in Windows registry. The key is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AKS-Labs\File Search Assistant. Once you
want to make a backup of your system including File Search
Assistant’s settings, please use your favorite registry backup
utility.

Important license note:
Installing File Search Assistant on several computers for
simultaneously usage is allowed only for Site and World licenses.
One registered copy of
File Search Assistant Personal may either be used by a single
person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
or installed on a single workstation used non-simultaneously by
multiple people, but not both.
You may access the
registered version of File Search Assistant through a network,
provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
software covering all workstations that will access the software
through the network.
If you need to install our
software on another computer for using you should purchase new
license.
There are two ways to
install File Search Assistant on several computers.
- Install on each
computer. You can download exe file. Then copy and install that
file on each user’s machine.
- Server installation.
You can download exe file. Then install it on a single computer, so
all workstations will access the software through the network.
Please note: as File Search Assistant keeps it’s data in windows
registry every user will have File Search Assistant configured in a
way he likes.
Entering registration
code. If you have File Search Assistant installed on several users’
computers then the handiest way is to use reg_key.key file to enter
registration code. You will double click on this file and
registration key will be added to Windows registry. Please, contact
AKS for reg_key.key
